About Us

Dedicated to Restoring Ecosystems and Empowering Communities

Natura is a social enterprise that leverages low-cost innovation and environmental friendly techniques to effectively manage and control water hyacinth in order to mitigate its negative effects on the environment such as lack of access to clean water, increase greenhouse gas emission, loss in biodiversity, food insecurity, environmental and aquatic ecosystem degradation.

Our vision is to transform water hyacinth from a pervasive aquatic nuisance into a valuable resource, fostering a sustainable ecosystem that enhances water quality, supports biodiversity, and empowers local communities through innovative solutions and economic opportunities.

Our Services

Innovative Solutions for Cleaner Water and Sustainable Ecosystems

Water Quality Improvement

Water hyacinths negatively impact water quality by releasing toxins and pollutants into the water. By removing these plants, Natura improves water quality and make it suitable for various uses such as drinking, irrigation, and aquatic life support.

Ecosystem Restoration

By creating habitats for fish and other aquatic organisms, Natura supports biodiversity and restore degraded ecosystems.

Carbon Sequestration

As a rapidly growing plant that absorbs carbon, Natura uses this plant to capture carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, contributing to carbon sequestration efforts.

Sustainable Biomass Production

Natura processes the harvested water hyacinth into organic fertilizer, handicrafts, animal feed and bioenergy.

Wastewater Treatment

Natura uses water hyacinth in constructed wetlands for the treatment of wastewater, effectively removing contaminants and improving effluent quality.

Education and Awareness

Natura serves as an educational platform to raise awareness about aquatic ecosystems, invasive species management, and sustainable practices.

Economic Opportunities

The harvesting and processing of water hyacinth by Natura create jobs and stimulate local economies through the production of crafts, biofuels, or other products.

Research and Development

In years to come, Natura aims to serve as a site for research on aquatic plants, ecosystem services, and innovative uses of water hyacinth.

Community Engagement

By involving local communities in the management and utilization of water hyacinth, Natura fosters stewardship and promote sustainable practices.
